Bold claim. It also runs the same few tricks over and over. Each card: a real quote, and what she says it proves. Pick the trick. Then see what the writing skipped.
Nobody here is defending gifted programs. Most are mediocre and I'll say so. The problem is what she does with the facts — and the itch underneath it to pretend nobody's actually ahead.

Two reasoning moves do most of the damage. The switch — complaints about the label, test, and program used to indict whether the trait exists. And the time warp — attacking “once gifted, always gifted,” a model the field retired, while quoting experts who've already moved on.
Underneath the facts is a mood: a Harrison Bergeron discomfort that some kids are simply ahead, dressed up as a debunking. That's the part worth resisting.
But resisting it is not defending “gifted” programs. Most are mediocre — capricious “multiple-measures” identification, enrichment and SEL where the money goes to PD and buzzword conferences, almost no real acceleration. If that's what “gifted” means, scrap it.
There's nothing wrong with wanting smart, motivated kids in rooms with other smart, motivated kids — and letting them actually move ahead. The evidence that holds up is about acceleration, the thing most programs barely do. She's furious at broken programs and taking it out on the kids.
